Antique Item from Maharashtra
 
This Brass jug is called an Abhishek Patra or Jal Patra. It is a vessel that is used to sprinkle, pour and bathe the idols or deities of God with holy water, sugar syrup, honey, curd, Ghee, milk and fruit juices. The “Gau-mata” (Cow-mother) jug has a small opening in the mouth to pour the devotional liquid.
